Coming from a background in Psychology and as an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP),

Katelyn has over 20 years’ experience in working with families.

Katelyn is the principal Mediator for Family Compass. She has worked as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner since 2008 and has held senior roles in a peak organisation within the mediation sector.   Katelyn’s diverse experience contributes a deep understanding and capacity to support individuals through the complexities of relationship breakdown and family conflicts.

Katelyn has a passion for forward planning in her own life and wants to share this and her combined professional knowledge with Family Compass clients.

SUZETTE ELLEREIT (Principal Mediator)

Suzette is a Registered Social Worker, an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), a Collaborative Professional Coach and a Parenting Coordinator. 

Suzette has over 20 years experience supporting families and has worked as a Social Worker for 8??? years . She has experience promoting safety, positive parent-child interaction and parent education. “My commitment to strength building for families experiencing trauma, stress and change underlies every professional decision”.

Suzette has been working as an FDRP for over twelve years (since 2012????).  She has held senior positions within a peak mediation service, including as Clinical Practice Coordinator for the last 2 years and has supported families as a Family Mediation Coach to heal, adapt and grow where conflict has been high.

  • Over 20 years experience working with families.

  • Over 12 years working as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

  • Over 7 (or 8) years experience working with the Department for Communities as a Social Woker / Foster Care Support Worker, resulting in a broad knowledge of factors that may affect families including mental health, drug and alcohol issues and domestic violence.

  • Over ?? years assisting children and parents to adopt Protective Behaviours skills.

  • Over ?? years experience supporting non-parental carers / foster families.

  • Over 3 years experience providing telephone crisis counselling.

  • Specific training in facilitating groups for families who have experienced family violence, including those who have caused harm and those who have experienced harm.

  • Specific training in facilitating groups for people who have caused harm to children.
